National Assembly
The building of the National Assembly was one of the first public buildings constructed after the Liberation, in Neorenaissance style. The National Assembly is officially opened in 1884 and is located in the city center in “National Assembly” square. Another emblematic monument – the one of the King Liberator or better known in the local slang as the “Horse”, rises just in front of the building. The motto “Unity makes strength” which is part of the national emblem of Bulgaria, is painted on the front facade of the building. National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria is a state body that exercises the legislative power in the country.
